Dash Compact Air Fryer

Dash – It is not a new brand I’m hearing. I have purchased their Mini Maker Griddle couple of years ago as I was fancied by it’s cute small size. It was very handy that we had carried along during our road trip to make quick pancakes or eggs. So when I was send their Air Fryer, I was so glad to review.Check out their website to see many more such interesting products.

Dash Compact Air Fryer

The Dash Compact Air Fryer comes with instructional manual and recipe book. The appliance is easy to use and doesn’t take too much space of your counter. Perfect for the small kitchen. The air frying basket is dishwasher safe. The 1.2 Liter frying basket helps you for portion control. It cooks the the food crisp and delicious.

Air Fried Paruppu Vada

When I received the Air Fryer, the first thing I want to try was Paruppu Vada/ Chana Dal Fritter as it is one of my favorite snack. But haven’t made it for long time as my husband was not fond of deep fried ones. So I  made Paruppu vada this time with not more than 1 Tsp of oil. So my Husband happy and me happy. One thing with Air Fried Paruppu Vada is ,you can’t expect it as the same as deep fried one.But I would definitely say,it’s Crispy.

How did I make this

The first step in making Paruppu Vada is soaking the Dal. Soak Chana dal for 1 – 2 hours. Then grind it with ginger and green chili with no water. Do not grind smooth.Few dals should be visible. Add other ingredients and air fry in pre heated air fryer. I brushed the vadas before air frying.

What I understood is pre heating Air fryer helps the dish cook crisper. So pre heat for 2 minutes. I cooked Paruppu vada in 400 Deg F for 15 Minutes flipping the vadas twice in between. You don’t have to baby sit as you do in deep frying. When it’s done you can hear the click sound of timer. Healthy air fried Vadas are done.
