Easy Air Fryer chickpeas
Chickpea is a versatile ingredient that we can have in our pantry. It is rich in protein, fiber, and a great meat substitute for vegetarian and vegan people. So when it comes to making snacks for kids or adults, it becomes easy for me to make these Air fryer chickpeas. These don’t get boring as I can customize the flavors each time I make them. My kids prefer savory over cinnamon sugar whereas I like cinnamon sugar. Let me know what is your favorite flavor.

When I got my first Dash Air fryer, I didn’t know that I would love it to make most of my snacks. My favorite thing about it is compact in size and doesn’t hold up the bigger space in the kitchen. The functions are so simple and don’t confuse even the beginners. I started making many delicious, guilt-free snacks with less oil.

How to make Crispy, Easy Air Fryer Chickpeas
Ingredients Used
Chickpeas – You can use canned or you can cook your own chickpeas. I cooked chickpeas in my Instant Pot.

Flavors
Cinnamon sugar – Mix 2 Tablespoons of sugar with 1 Tsp of Cinnamon powder.
Indian Flavor – I used Turmeric powder, Red chili powder, Cumin powder, Garam masala, and salt.

Method
To make these Air Fryer chickpeas, you can use canned chickpeas or just check out my Instant Pot Chickpeas to make your own cooked chickpeas.

| Pro tip – If you are using canned chickpeas or you just cooked the chickpeas in an Instant pot, drain the liquid and spread the chickpeas on the kitchen towel for 1 hour to remove the moisture. This is an important step to make air fryer chickpeas crispy. |
Once the moisture is gone, preheat the air fryer to 400 Deg F. Divide the chickpeas into 2 bowls. In one mix the chickpeas with cinnamon sugar and in another mix it with Indian flavors. Once the air fryer is preheated, spread chickpeas in one bowl to the air fryer basket. Do not overload. Make sure the chickpeas are spread in a single layer. Spray cooking oil on the chickpeas and cook for 15 to 18 minutes. Do not forget to shake the air fryer basket in 5-minute intervals.

Other flavors to try
You can customize it with any flavors you like. A few ideas are,
- Garlic powder + salt

How to store air fryer roasted chickpeas?
Once air-fried, let it cool completely and then store it in an airtight container at room temperature. It stays good for weeks unless you don’t have it sneakily as I do. Lol.

Can I make roasted chickpeas in the oven?
Absolutely yes. If you haven’t got your Air fryer yet ( which I highly recommend to. Make use of this Thanksgiving or Black Friday Sale) you can make these roasted chickpeas in your oven. Just preheat the oven to 400 Deg F. Spread the seasoned chickpeas in a baking tray. Bake it in a preheated oven for 20 to 22 minutes. Enjoy your favorite snack.
