Poori/Deep Fried Indian Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup Whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp Rava/Semolina
  • Water As Required
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • Oil to deep fry

Instructions

  • Take Whole wheat flour,semolina and salt in a big bowl.
  • Add water in small quantity at regular interval and mix simultaneously.
  • Make it to a thick dough.You need not rest this dough as we do in chapathi dough.You can start make immediately.
  • Divide the dough to small balls.
  • Roll it into slightly thick poori.
  • In a deep fry pan heat oil.
  • When the oil is hot enough,drop one rolled dough.
  • With the slotted spatula,immerse the dough in oil.It helps it to puff.
  • Flip it and let it cook in medium flame till golden.
  • Remove it with slotted spatula to tissue.Repeat the same with other.
  • Serve with your favorite masala.

Notes

  1. To check whether oil is hot enough,drop a pinch of dough in oil.When it comes up immediately,the oil is right for frying.
  2. After adding the rolled dough in oil,keep the flame in medium.If not inside will not be cooked well.
  3. For given quantity of whole wheat add only a tsp of semolina.Don't add more.
