Rava /Semolina Ladoo

  • 1 cup Rava/Semolina
  • 1/2 cup Raw Organic Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Warm Milk Approximately
  • 2 tsp Ghee/Clarified butter
  • Cashews & Raisins As required


  • Heat 1 tsp of ghee/ clarified butter in a wide heavy bottomed pan.
    Roast cashews and raisins till golden. Remove it in a plate.
  • In the same pan add another 1 tsp of ghee.
  • Add fine rava/semolina and roast continuously in medium flame till aroma arises.
  • When it starts turning golden,add sugar and stir.
    Stir continuously.
  • The sugar melts  and starts stick in the bottom of the pan.
  • Stir thoroughly and add roasted cashews and raisins.
    Remove this mixture to a plate.
  • When the heat is manageable, add warm milk little by little and starts making balls.
    Serve immediately.
  • It stays good for two days in refrigerator when stored in air tight container.


  1. While roasting Rava/semolina you have to stir continuously. If not it will burn easily.
  2. As my sugar granules were big,I powdered it. If you are adding fine granules white sugar, you can add directly.
  3. Add milk little by little,and try forming ladoos. When you are able to make balls stop adding milk. For the above mentioned quantity,you will need approximately 1/4 cup milk.
  4. This ladoo stays good for two days when stored in air tight container in refrigerator.
