Coriander Seeds Chutney

This coriander seeds chutney is restaurant style.The restaurant called Murugan Idli Shop in Chennai,India.It has the unique,nutty flavor for this dip.

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsn Coriander Seeds
  • 1 Tsp Urad Dal
  • 1 Tsp Bengal Gram Dal
  • 3 Nos Dry Red Chili
  • 1/2 Cup Onion Chopped
  • 1 No Tomato Chopped
  • 1 Tsp Jaggery Powder
  • Tamarind Small Marble sized
  • 1 Tsp Oil
  • Curry Leaves Few
  • Salt As required

To Temper

  • 1 Tsp Oil
  • Curry Leaves Few
  • 1/4 Tsp Mustard Seeds

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan and saute' bengal gram,urad dal,dry red chilies and coriander seeds.
  • Saute' till you get nice aroma. It takes 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Remove it to a plate. In the same pan, add onion and tomato and saute' till tomato becomes mushy.
  • Switch off and when it completely cools down, transfer it to a blender along with the coriander seeds mixture. 
  • Add jaggery and tamarind to this. Blend it along with required water and salt to smooth chutney.
  • Remove it to a bowl.
  • Heat 1 Tsp of oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • When mustard seeds splutter, add it to the ground chutney.
  • Serve this chutney along with Oats Dosa, Green gram dosa, Idli.

Notes

  • Add dry red chilies according to your spice level.
