Hi friends, let us treat ourselves today with some Yummy Rose Coconut Bonbons.

Bonbons Vs Truffles

What is Bonbons?

The word is formed from the French word ‘Bon’ which means good. The bonbons are generally chocolate-coated sweet confections. The filling inside can stand alone as a sweet confection. Still, it is lightly coated with a thin layer of chocolate.

A plate of rose coconut bonbons.

Bonbons and truffles are confused often. The main difference is

Bonbons

  • Large filling with thin chocolate covering.
  • Started by making the filling and covered it with chocolate.

Truffle

  • Small filling with a thick chocolate shell.
  • Started by making chocolate ganache and then rolled in coconut or nuts.

Facts received from here.

Why Rose Coconut Bonbons?

Why did I make Rose chocolate Bonbons?

The idea of making these Rose Coconut Bonbons came from my daughter. Once when we were chatting, she asked me whether she could suggest a recipe to do. When I asked what, she said to make a red coconut ball with red food coloring and roll it in chocolates. I didn’t know where she got the idea. But I liked it and soon tried to make it. The result is this Rose Coconut Bonbons. Loved it. Outside soft chocolate thin coating with a bite of crunchy coconut. I thank my daughter for giving me the idea.
