This Cucumber fruit Smoothie is an interesting smoothie recipe to try this summer. This is the ultimate coolant drink you must try.

Cucumber Fruit Smoothie

This is the first time I made a smoothie with cucumber fruit. Usually, when I get cucumber fruit for vishu, we make pachadi or kootu. But this time I thought to try a smoothie with it as it was too hot. It is naturally creamy and thick without even adding milk.

  • As you all know cucumber is 96% water which helps to keep your body hydrated.
  • It is rich in antioxidants
  • As cucumbers are rich in water content, it also helps in weight reduction.
  • It helps in bowel movements.

Usually in Kerala cuisine, cucumber fruit is used to make pachadi for Vishu or Onam sadhya. It’s a mild yogurt curry served along the side. I Will post that recipe later. Let me know if you have any favorite recipes using cucumber fruit. I like to try new recipes. Comment below.

How to make cucumber fruit smoothie

Ingredients used

Ingredients used to make cucumber smoothie.

Method

Peel the Cucumber and remove the seeds inside. Cut it into cubes. Take cucumber cubes, ½ quantity of milk, and sugar in a blender. Pulse it for a few seconds. Then add the remaining milk and the required water to make the consistency. Blend it again for a few seconds.

Add ice cubes and serve the smoothie cold.

Frequently asked questions

Should I peel the skin of a cucumber for a smoothie?

I would say it’s a personal choice. I prefer to peel the skin as the skin of the cucumber fruit will be thicker than the young cucumber.

What fruit can be blended along with cucumber?

You can add banana, mango, and papaya. It goes well along with cucumber.

Can I make it vegan?

Yes, you can make this smoothie vegan. Just use coconut milk or almond milk in place of whole milk.

Cucumber Fruit – 1 Cup ( peeled and chopped)

Milk – ½ Cup

Sugar – as required

Water – As required

Method

  • Take cubed cucumber, ¼ cup milk, and sugar in a blender.

    I admit I never thought of cucumber as contender for smoothie, but your recipe had me curious, so I tried it. And it was so lovely and refreshing! Just what I needed on a hot (well look, 20 degrees counts as hot in Ireland) Irish summers day.
