Hi Friends, this is my first time doing a Guest post in this space. So when I asked my dear friend Sophie Goel of http://www.mydaintysoulcurry.com/ to do the honors, she readily accepted. From the day I started blogging, I have been knowing a lot of amazing people. That’s a great thing I got from blogging.

Sophie Goel is a wonderful person. We met through blogging and now we became a great blogging buddies. She is a mom of two adorable kids. She still manage to blog regularly. Her food pics are droolworthy. Definitely check out her blog to feed your eyes. Her blog is mainly focusing low-carb and vegan diet. For us she sent a healthy, instant and yummy wheat dosa. Check similar dish posted in her site at http://www.mydaintysoulcurry.com/instant-tofu-dosa-vegan-recipe/ . Now over to her.

Instant Wheat Dosa:

The word instant doesn’t make this dosa an unhealthy one. While most instant foods contain loads of preservative or chemical additives, my version of instant wheat dosa is healthy and hands down healthy. If you know me and read my blog posts, then you must know that I try to follow a low-carb diet.

Recently, I posed a recipe of tofu masala dosa, which is another instant dosa too. And this instant wheat dosa is a winner just like my instant tofu dosa too. Just a few ingredients, and your dosa is ready. You really don’t have to sweat in grinding the rice and lentil, allowing it to ferment and then making dosas.

The truth is this instant dosa has even lesser carb per serving than a regular rice-urad daal dosa.  It’s my kind of thing to write more about the nutrition about each recipe.

I believe food should be healing, and what we eat should nourish our body not harming it. A balanced diet is the key. However, people like me who watch their carb for some health reasons must and should watch what they are eating. Okay, lots of discussion on that.

Nutrition Facts:

Calorie per dosa: 58.5

Carb:10g

Protein: 3.5g

Let’s talk about the recipe, shall we?

Ingredients:

½ cup wheat flour

¼ cup urad flour

¼ cup sooji

1 tbsp besan

½ cup yogurt

1 tsp salt

A pinch of baking soda

Water as required

Method:

  • In a blender, add all wet ingredients and blend well to make a smooth liquid base.
  • Now add the dry ingredients and blend well until well combined.
  • Add salt and baking soda. Stir well to mix.
  • In a greased skillet or griddle, add a ladle of batter and make dosa by moving the ladle in circular motion.
  • Add some oil or spray with oil and allow the dosa to become brown and crispy.
  • Serve with masala and chutney.
  • I prefer to eat this dosa with tomato chutney and broccoli cauliflower masala.

Variations:

  • Add ginger and green chilies while blending to add some flavors.
  • Sprinkle with cumin seeds, grated carrot and shredded cabbage on the dosa.
  • Apply the tomato chutney on the dosa while cooking, and it adds another layer of flavor.

See how crispy it is
