Winemakers’ Grape Cake

Though the name is ‘ Winemaker’, this cake doesn’t have wine in it. I had some purple grapes lying in the fridge. My family members are down with flu, so no one wanted to eat it as such. That’s the time I eyed on this recipe. When I read, Martha Stewart’s recipe, I thought I must try it.

Grape cake and an empty plate on side.

Simple ingredients and easy-to-follow steps resulted in an amazing, crumbly cake with juicy grapes in between. When I started I’m not sure about how it would taste. But once I made it, it smelled awesome and I couldn’t keep my hands off from the cake. My kids and husband too loved it. You will be taken away by the juicy grapes coming between every bite of the cake.

How to make Grape Cake

As I said, I followed Martha Stewart’s recipe. I followed everything except a few changes. I didn’t add lemon zest and added sprinkles as per my kid’s request. After all, what reason do I have not to add sprinkles? It just adds color to the cake and to your life..lol. The recipe calls to add some grapes in halfway through baking but I didn’t do that. I baked the cake straight for 30 minutes and it was done perfectly.

I used this cake pan. Each time I bake, I have no complaints of cake sticking at the bottom. It comes out clean and bakes perfectly and even. Cleaning is a breeze too.

Cake straight from the oven. Isn’t it beautiful?

I loved this cake so much that I couldn’t stop taking pictures. I loaded my PC with the pictures of this cake and it was hard to choose which one to put it here. This Grape cake is best when served along with a glass of milk. It is perfect for your kid’s snack box too.
