Summer for us isn’t complete without Corn on the cob. My son loves corn and it’s mandatory to get corn on the cob while we go shopping. Recently I started cooking corn on the cob in an Instant Pot and never went back to the stovetop. It’s perfect each time and fuss-free.

How to cook corn on the cob?

Initially, I used to cook the corn over the stovetop. It takes a long time and each time it’s hard for me to say if it’s done or not just by seeing. But after I got the Instant Pot, it was a breeze and I never cooked the corn on the stovetop again.

It just takes 3 minutes ( pressure building time not included, it may take 5 to 6 minutes) and it’s perfectly done each time.  Season the cooked corn as per your choice. I love to smear some salt and pepper with lemon slices.

Health benefits of Corn

Corns have a fair share of proteins and carbs. Sweet corns are rich in vitamins like Folate, vitamin B6, Potassium.

Instant pot Corn on the cob

Ingredients Used

Corn on the Cob – Choose fresh cob with green husks. That will taste better than the cob with brown husks.

Water – We have to pour 1 cup of water into the pot while cooking.

Fresh corns with husk.
Choose fresh corn for the best taste.

Method

Remove the husk and the corn silk from the cob. Switch on the Instant Pot. Pour 1 cup of water into the stainless steel pot. Place the trivet inside.

If your corn is big to fit in the Instant Pot, cut it in half and place it on the trivet. You can stack the corns one above the other. Close the Instant Pot lid. Check if the valve is in a sealing position. Press the pressure cook button or manual button and set the time to 3 minutes, high pressure. Once done, quickly release the pressure. Open the lid and serve the corn warm.

Oven-baked corn on the cob

You can also roast the corn in the oven. Remove the husk and clean the corn. Preheat the oven to 400 Deg F. You can line the baking tray with foil. Place the corn on the baking tray and bake in a preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Once done, remove it from the baking tray. Smear with butter, salt, and pepper. Enjoy with your friends and family.

Air-fried corn on the cob

If you are still skeptical about using the Air fryer you got for Christmas, start using it with corn on the cob. Preheat the air fryer to 400 Deg F. Remove the husk from the corn and place the corn in the air fryer basket. Either brush the corn with oil or use cooking spray.  Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes turning the cobs in halfway. Once done, remove from the air fryer basket. Smear with butter, salt and pepper, and serve.

Pro tip – Do not stack the corn in the air fryer basket. Place it in a single layer.

Seasoning suggestions for corn on the cob

I like the corn on the cob by just brushing butter on warm corn and then smearing ground red chili or paprika and salt. Do not forget to rub with a lemon wedge. Trust me, it’s so addictive.

You can add butter, garlic powder, oregano, pepper, and salt with some cilantro.
