You would have heard Sambar idli, Sambar vada, but have you ever heard Sambar dosa? Even I haven’t heard it till my marriage. This is my MIL’s recipe which is my husband’s favorite. I have already posted Tiffan sambar( nodal), whenever we make this sambar, Sambar dosa is a must in our home.

Aloo paratha – Aloo Paratha / Potato Stuffed Indian Flat Bread is a famous breakfast menu among North Indians. It is a whole wheat flatbread stuffed with mashed potato and spices. 

Ragi dosa – Ragi Dosa/ Finger Millet Dosa is a healthy Indian breakfast. It is made in many ways. Here we are going to see the fermented batter version. The batter is fermented in an Instant Pot.

Aloo poori – Moms like me have to think about incorporating vegetables in toddlers’ food in any possible way. This Aloo Poori is the result of that.

Poori – Poori / Deep fried Indian bread is a famous South Indian breakfast. It is a Whole wheat Indian bread deep fried.

Puttu – This Puttu is the traditional food from Kerala, an Indian state. It is healthy and delicious to have with Kerala kadala curry.

Idli Upma – Idli Upma is a famous dish made out of leftover Idli. This is easy and a great breakfast option. It’s Vegan and Gluten-free.

Recipe for Sambar Dosa

Ingredients

Dosa batter – 1  big ladle per dosa

Tiffin sambar – 1 or 2 small ladles per dosa

Oil – to drizzle

Method

  • Heat Tawa spread dosa batter to a dosa ( not very thin). Drizzle oil.
  • When one side is cooked, flip it. Let it be for a few seconds.
  • Flip again and spread 1 or 2 ladles of sambar.
  • Let it be for a minute. Fold carefully.
  • Serve warm.
Step wise instructions to make sambar dosa.

Notes

  1. Use the sambar as per your requirement. Do not pour it too much.
  2. Let the dosa stay on hot Tawa for a minute after pouring the sambar on it.
  3. The dosa should be thick, if not it may tear up when you try to remove it to a plate.
