Badam Ladoo with Jaggery
In India, we make different varieties of Ladoos during the festive time. Badam ladoo is one among them. There are many variations of this ladoo which differs as per person’s taste. Some add grated coconut or crushed cardamom. Few add nuts to give the crunch to the ladoo. You can also make this ladoo using sugar. Here I give the easiest version of badam ladoo.

Considering the health benefits of almond and jaggery this ladoo is an excellent snack for kids.

How to make Easy Badam ladoo without sugar?
Ingredients Used

Almonds – I used the almonds with skin on. If you prefer white ladoo, then you can blanch the almonds and remove the skin. To blanch either soak the almonds in water overnight or soak it in hot water for 1 hour and peel the skin.
Jaggery – Jaggery is a good source of Iron and healthy than white sugar.
Ghee – I have used ghee or clarified butter in this recipe. However, if you want to make it vegan, you can skip the ghee and pulse the almond jaggery mixture a minute more in a blender to form ladoo.
Method
We start the procedure to make badam ladoo by dry roasting the almonds in a wide pan. Roast the almonds till it is warm and you get a nice aroma. Make sure not to burn the almonds. Then transfer these almonds to a blender. Blend it to make powder. Add powdered jaggery along with powdered almonds and pulse it till it becomes warm and moist with powdered jaggery.

Remove the mix to a plate. Add ghee and start mix thoroughly. Then start making the ladoos by taking a small portion of the mixture and try to make balls with your hands. Serve badam ladoo.
Variations you can try
- You can add grated coconut along with the almonds to make ladoo. If using coconut, dry roast it before adding it to almonds and powdering.
- Add ghee roasted raisins or cashews to the almond jaggery mix while making ladoo.
- You can make this ladoo with white sugar too. Instead of jaggery add white sugar along with the powdered almonds.
How to store the Badam Ladoo?
After making the ladoos, store it in an airtight container. The ladoos stay good for a week at room temperature.
