Method
Mix custard powder with 2 tablespoons of milk and set aside. In the remaining milk add corn starch and sugar. Stir thoroughly without any lumps. Add the custard mixture to this milk and cornstarch mixture. Place this on the stove and cook on low flame until the milk thickens.
Once the milk mixture thickens, remove it from heat and pour it into the molds or cups. When it cools down, Cover the cup with cling wrap, with the wrap touching the pudding (this way no layer will be formed above the pudding while cooling), and refrigerate it for at least 2 hours.
How to serve milk pudding
Serve the pudding in a bowl or de-mold it on a plate. Top it with fresh-cut fruits, caramel syrup, or fruit compote.
On the other hand, you can set the milk pudding in an 8*8 baking tray or any deep dish. Once set in the refrigerator, cut the pudding into small cubes, roll it in milk powder or desiccated coconut, and serve it as pudding bites.
Tips 1. Instead of adding custard powder, you can add vanilla or rose essence while cooking the milk pudding. 2. For a firmer pudding to cut into bites, add 5 tablespoons of cornstarch. 3. To make milk pudding vegan, you can use coconut milk instead of whole milk. |
